Three Colleges, One Goal
HURAA is just one of three college groups in Boston that work together to put on weekly social events for teens and young adults with special needs. Together with MIT's Project Connect and Boston University's Student Volunteers for Special Needs, HURAA participates in Friday Night Clubs (or FNC's). These events are planned and executed by these college volunteers, each of whom is dedicated to mentoring our teenagers and making sure they have the best possible experience, each and every week. Our volunteers are as different as each of our teens, but they all have one thing in common: they care immensely for the work they do and the teens they mentor at FNC's. Below you can learn a bit more about some of the Harvard volunteers!
Meet our volunteers!
Samantha Martin, President
Samantha is a senior who has been volunteering with HURAA since her freshman year. She is an Organismic and Evolutionary Biology major, currently applying to medical school. Sam has spent four summers working as a camp counselor for children with autism and special needs, and absolutely loves using this experience with HURAA! Please feel free to reach out to Sam via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions about HURAA or FNC in general.
